Lightweights Dennis Siver And Sam Stout Agree To Meet At UFC 137

Dennis SiverA lightweight bout appears to be in the books, and is the first match that hasn’t first been announced by UFC officials. German striker Dennis ‘The Menace’ Siver (19-7) and Sam ‘Hands of Stone’ Stout (17-6-1) have verbally agreed to meet in October as part of the UFC 137 event in Vegas.
Word of the matchup first surfaced at FiveOuncesOfPain.com and MMAjunkie.com confirmed that both fighters had verbally agreed to the fight.
UFC 137: St. Pierre vs. Diaz is expected to take place on October 29 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. A UFC welterweight title bout is expected to headline the show, between current champ, Georges St-Pierre, and former Strikeforce title holder, Nick Diaz.
Siver won his fourth match in a row, and his eight in nine bouts earlier this month on the main card of UFC 132. The German based fighter earned a unanimous decision over Matt Wiman at the event, earning his second win of 2011. Earlier this year he also won a decision victory in February, defeating Australian lightweight George Sotiropoulos in Sydney at UFC 127. ‘The Menace’ currently holds a 8-4 record overall with the UFC.
Stout’s last fight was in June in Vancouver, B.C. where he earned a devastating knockout over Yves Edwards at UFC 131. The first round KO left Edwards on his back for several minutes as staff attended to him, he was eventually alright leaving Stout with the victory and the “Knockout of the Night” bonus. That made it two in a row for ‘Hands of Stone’ who earned a split decision over Paul Tayler in October at UFC 121. Over Stout’s UFC career he has won four “Fight of the Night” bonuses and now owns a “KOTN” with his last victory.
