UFC 138: Lightweights Anthony Njokuani & Paul Taylor Reported To Meet At UK Card

anthony njokuaniA lightweight matchup for the Ultimate Fighting Championships return to the United Kingdom is being reported by MMAjunkie.com Wednesday afternoon for the UFC 138 event. Meeting in the Octagon will be Muay Thai specialist Anthony ‘The Assassin’ Njokuani (14-5) and British kickboxer ‘Relentless’ Paul Taylor (11-6-1).
UFC 138: Leben vs. Muñoz is expected to take place on Nov. 5 at the LG Arena in Birmingham, England. The event will feature the first five-round non-title main event bout between UFC middleweights Chris Leben and Mark Muñoz.
Fans in the U.S. will see the event via tape delay on Spike TV, while fans in Canada can tune into Rogers Sportsnet.
Fans can expect to see the Njokuani vs. Taylor bout on the television broadcast.
Njokuani scored a dominant win over another Brit in his last fight, earning a unanimous decision over Andre Winner earlier this month at UFC 132. ‘The Assassin’ put on a Muay Thai clinic by severely out striking Winner in every round. The win erased a decision loss to Edson Barboza at UFC 128, in a bout that earned both fighters the “Fight of the Night” bonus. Before joining the UFC, Njokuani went 4-3 in the WEC having earned three “Knockout of the Night” bonuses.
Taylor likely saved his job in his last Octagon appearance by knocking out Gabe Ruediger last February at UFC 126 in a lightweight bout. ‘Relentless’ entered the match on a two fight losing skid, having lost a split decision to Sam Stout at UFC 121 in his lightweight debut, and a unanimous decision loss to fellow countryman John Hathaway at UFC 105. Taylor began his UFC career in 2007, having gone 4-5 overall with the top promotion fighting and is 1-1 as a lightweight fighter.
