UFC 133: ‘Lil’Nog’ Injured, UFC Looking For Replacement To Face Rich Franklin

Now he has had some work added to the pile with the recent with the withdrawal of UFC light heavyweight Antônio Rogério ‘Lil’Nog’ Nogueira (19-5) from next months UFC 133 card.
Nogueira, twin brother to former UFC champ Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira, suffered a possible shoulder injury preparing for opponent Rich ‘Ace’ Franklin (28-6, 1NC).
The injury was first reported by Tatame.com, and later confirmed by UFC President Dana White via Twitter (@danawhite).

It isn’t clear whether the UFC will attempt to find a new opponent for Franklin, as their bout had been cast as the co-main event for UFC 133, or whether the promotion will look to pull ‘Ace’ from the card.
UFC 133: Evans vs. Ortiz is scheduled to take place on August 6 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Nogueira has dropped his last two bouts, losing unanimous decisions to Phil Davis and Ryan Bader. ‘Lil’Nog’ faced Davis, who replaced an injured Tito Ortiz, in March at UFC Fight Night 25. While facing Bader last September on the main card of UFC 119. The Brazilians last UFC victory was in May of last year, a split decision victory over Jason Brilz that earned both men the “Fight of the Night” bonus.
