Undefeated light-heavyweight prospect Rodney Wallace is slated to make his UFC debut at the Ultimate Fighter season 10 Finale in Dec., and his opponent for the event might be former WEC light-heavyweight champion Brian Stann.
Wallace confirmed his UFC signing and subsequent debut fight with the promotion at TUF 10 finale in an interview with MMA For Real.
"I just signed a four fight contract with them (UFC) and will begin competing soon," said Wallace. "I'm scheduled to fight on the December 5th finale of The Ultimate Fighter in Vegas."
When asked about the rumored bout with Stann, Wallace declined to give anything away: "I can't confirm or deny that rumor yet," he said.
Wallace most recently won an eight-man tournament at Vendetta Fighting Championship: "A Night of Vengeance" last month in Aruba. He defeated the likes of Gregory Milliard, Aaron Stark and Antwain Britt in a single night, finishing Stark and Britt by submission.
Wallace has fought for other promotions during his career, such as Revolution Fight Club, Vengeance Fighting Championship, and M-1 Global. Since turning pro in April 2008, he has put together an undefeated 9-0 MMA record, with six wins coming by decision and three by stoppages.
Stann (7-2) picked up his first UFC win in his last bout as he scored a controversial unanimous decision win over Steve Cantwell in their rubber match at UFN 19 last month. He previously lost two straight fights, including a loss in his Octagon debut against Krzysztof Soszynski at UFC 97. Prior to entering the UFC, Stann went 5-1 with WEC, with his lone loss coming against Cantwell.
TUF 10 finale takes place on Dec. 5 from the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, NV, and the main card will be televised on Spike TV. The event will feature a battle between the two heavyweight finalists from the 10th season of The Ultimate Fighter.
The event will also feature a light-heavyweight bout between undefeated phenom Jon "Bones" Jones and contender Matt Hamill, as well as a lightweight bout between Frankie Edgar and Kurt Pellegrino.
