The PressofAtlanticCity.com revealed that UFC on FX 4 would take place at the Revel Casino on June 22, 2012 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Headlining the event is a lightweight bout between former contender Gray ‘The Bully’ Maynard (10-1-1) and Clay ‘The Carpenter’ Guida (29-12).
Maynard spoke to the Press about making the trip to Atlantic City.
“I’ve never been to Atlantic City,” Maynard said in a phone interview from Las Vegas. “I’m looking foward to it.”The event caps off the third event for June with UFC on FX 3 taking place on June 8 and UFC 147 expected for June 16 in Brazil.
“Frankie and I fought twice last year and three times total,” Maynard, 32, said. “Just to be able to fight somebody different for a change will be good.”
“Seeing (Henderson beat Edgar) just motivated me even more,” Guida said Monday in a phone interview from Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he trains. “I saw my brother (Jason) fight in Atlantic City back in 2005 and now I’ve got the chance to fight there. Hopefully, a win will get me a title shot.”
