Bantamweight Bout Set For UFC on FX 3, Dustin Pague vs. Jared Papazian Announced

On Tuesday, the Ultimate Fighting Championship announced a bantamweight bout between season fourteen “TUF” alum Dustin ‘The Disciple’ Pague (10-5) and ‘The Jackhammer’ Jared Papazian (14-7, 1NC) for this June as part of the UFC on FX 3 show. “…bantamweights Dustin Pague and Jared Papazian will square off. Both fighters are known for their hard-hitting, toe-to-toe style which should make for an exciting matchup.
UFC on FX 3 is expected to take place on June 8 in a location to be determined by fans through their votes in the Harley-Davidson Hometown Throwdown experience.
Both fighters have only verbally agreed to the matchup, and fans can expect them to appear on the nights preliminary card.
Pague competed as a member of Team Mayhem on the reality series and was defeated in the semi-finals by T.J. Dillashaw. ‘The Disciple’ debuted at the TUF 14 Finale, losing via first round TKO to John Albert last December. The loss ended a five fight win streak for Pague.
Papazian debuted with the UFC this past January, replacing an injured Ken Stone on short notice. Despite being a heavy underdog, Papazian put in a spirited fight losing a majority decision to Easton at the Nashville event. The loss ended a three fight win streak which saw ‘The Jackhammer’ win, and defend, the King of the Cage Flyweight (135 lbs) title.
