Melvin Manhoef has announced that he will make his second appearance for Strikeforce at the promotion’s show next month.
The fearsome Dutch striker, who is on a slide results-wise but still terrifying in the stand-up, revealed his involvement via Twitter.
He did not name an opponent but according to MMA Junkie it will be Tim Kennedy, previously thought to be facing Luke Rockhold.
Kennedy puts his 12-3 record and 3-1 Strikeforce run against Manhoef’s more experienced but proportionately inferior 24-8-1 record.
Kennedy comes into the fight off a loss to Ronald "Jacare" Souza for the Strikeforce interim middleweight title late last year. The loss snapped a four-fight winning streak.
Manhoef suffered a first-round knockout loss to Robbie Lawler on his Strikeforce debut last year and has gone 1-2 in his last three and 2-4 in his last six.
The fight will take place on March 5th and is part of the main card of the ‘Strikeforce: Feijao vs. Henderson’ event which will air on Showtime in the US.
