Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard will fight their rubber match in May. The fight will headline UFC 130, which takes place in Las Vegas on the 28th of that month.The two fought on January 1st at UFC 125 when Edgar retained his title by decision despite taking a hammering the first round that nearly put him away.
Maynard and his supporters were not happy with the decision and an immediate rematch was ordered. With the January 1st fight being a barnburner, expectations are running high for the rematch.
Also confirmed for the card are a number of matches that have previously been reported, but only received official confirmation from the UFC today.
Light heavyweights Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Thiago Silva are both coming off wins and are looking to lever themselves into the title picture.
Heavyweights Frank Mir and Roy Nelson will meet on the main card, as will Wanderlei Silva and Brian Stann.
Rounding out the PPV card is American Top Team welterweight Thiago Alves against Rick Story. Both are coming off wins, with Story on a five-fight win streak.
