Josh Grispi vs. George Roop set for TUF 13 Finale in June

Josh Grispi vs. George Roop set for TUF 13 Finale in June

Top contender Josh "The Fluke" Grispi and George Roop are reportedly set to meet in a Featherweight bout scheduled as part of the UFC: Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale.

After entering the UFC for the second time fresh off of his dramatic head-kick knockout of WEC fan favorite "The Korean Zombie" Chan Sung Jung, Roop failed to carry over the momentum when he was matched-up with fellow Team Tompkins product Mark Hominick.  Though he had hoped to spoil his teammate's title shot, which Hominick had been promised if victorious, Roop was knocked out just over a minute into the opening round.  With a combined record of 1-3 with the promotion, a victory will be crucial if Roop hopes to remain a part of the crowded UFC roster.

Grispi, meanwhile, finished all four of his opponents via first round stoppage under the WEC banner and was expected to face Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo in his UFC debut.  However, when an injury forced the Brazilian off the New Year's card, Grispi declined to wait for the champ and was defeated via unanimous decision by replacement opponent Dustin Poirier.  Grispi will undoubtedly look to regain his shot at title contention by making a statement in this one.

The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale is scheduled for June 4th from the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada, and is also expected to feature a Lightweight bout between current number one contender Anthony Pettis and Clay Guida
