Damacio: “Thirty seconds into the fight about 100 punches were thrown”

Since losing to Brian Bowles at WEC 35 in 2008, Damacio Page has been on somewhat of a tear in the WEC bantamweight division. His most recent win came over Will Campuzano, and it was a return to classic form for Damacio Page.

In a post fight interview with MMAWeekly, Page speaks about his WEC 43 fight with Will Campuzano.

“I was planning on fireworks flying. That's how I fight. I was planning on getting in his face, so I kind of did what I wanted to do. That's just the way I fight, so anybody in front of me is going to get guns blazing no matter what.”

“Thirty seconds into the fight about a hundred punches were thrown. Then I decided to take him down and the rest is history; took his back and choked him out.”

Damacio then switched his attention to his next opponent, whoever it may be.

“I really don't care whoever. Just throw me in there. Just let me fight. Just throw me out there. Throw me in November (the WEC's next event). I don't care.”

Of his twelve professional MMA fights, Damacio Page has ended all but one before final bell. Only time will tell who Damacio’s next opponent will be and whether he will once again show the skill and aggression that has made him a fan favourite.
