Cerrone: “I hope Ben beats Jamie, then I can get Jamie on a 3 rounder”

Many WEC fans hoped that when Ben Henderson and Donald Cerrone fought for the promotion’s lightweight interim title, that Cerrone would take it in order to set up the long awaited rematch between him and current WEC lightweight champ Jamie Varner. However Henderson took the win, but Cerrone said it’s all part of the fight game.

In a post fight interview with MMAWeekly, Donald Cerrone speaks about his fight.

“I just didn’t let it go, man. I wish I could have let it go in the beginning, but live and learn.”

“I hope (Henderson) beats Jamie, then I can get Jamie on a three-rounder.”

The title picture in the WEC lightweight division has been somewhat overlooked in favour of the public grudge between Donald Cerrone and Jamie Varner. Only time will tell whether the rivals get to face each other once again.
