British Fighter Che Mills To Debut At UFC 138 Against Chris Cope

Che MillsBritish welterweight Che Mills (13-4) will apparently make his UFC debut in November against Chris ‘C-Murder’ Cope (5-1) at the upcoming UFC 138 event.
News broke earlier this weekend about Mills signing with the UFC, but there was a contract issue with the BAMMA promotion over a fight with Joey Villasenor on Sept. 7 at BAMMA 7.
BAMMA official, Liam Fisher spoke to MMAWeekly.com on Saturday on the issue, “Che Mills is under contract to BAMMA and is scheduled to fight Joey Villasenor at BAMMA 7. Che has not been and will not be released by BAMMA.”
MMAWeekly.com broke the news monday, confirming with Mills manager Paul Hennessy of Showsport International, that his fighter had signed with Zuffa and would meet Cope at UFC 138.
UFC 138: Leben vs. Munoz is expected to take place on November 5 at the LG Arena in Birmingham, England. The event will air in the U.S. on Spike TV via tape delay. Fans in Canada can view the event on Rogers Sportsnet. The event marks the first five-round non-title main event in the promotions history as UFC middleweights Chris Leben and Mark Munoz meet in the headliner.
Mills appeared on episode one of season nines “The Ultimate Fighter”, losing to James Wilks in the opening elimination round. Mills has won his last four bouts and had his last fight in May, a first round knockout win over Marcio Cesar at a BAMMA 6 show. The former Cage Rage British welterweight champ has fought the likes of Marius Zaromskis, twice, Jim Wallhead, and Paul Taylor over his career.
Cope was a member of Team Lesnar on season thirteen of “TUF” and lost in the semifinals to Ramsey Nijem. He would then debut with the UFC against “TUF” teammate Chuck O’Neil at the “TUF 13 Finale”, earning a unanimous decision at the June 4 event. Cope is currently riding a two fight win streak which includes an appearance at last years Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Werdum event.
