The cluttered UFC lightweight division is a brutal place to work following the integration of the WEC roster, and inevitably there will be cuts based on performance and results.
The latest lightweight to have been released is British Rough House fighter Andre Winner who exits the promotion following his loss to Anthony Njokuani at UFC 132 – it marks his third in a row.
Winner emerged from the British scene with a record of 9-2-1 having been a staple in the Cage Warriors promotion and now defunct FX3 & Cage Rage shows.
His striking prowess landed him a slot on the the ‘Ultimate Fighter’ season 9 where he made it to the finals before succumbing to his teammate Ross Pearson.
Since the show he has accrued a 2-3 record in the Octagon.
