When the bracket was revealed for the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix, the buzz appeared to be centered on who Fedor Emelianenko would meet in the semifinals, not if, but when he defeated Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva. The Brazilian, of course, had other plans, however, and used his marked size advantage to overwhelm Emelianenko en-route to an upset TKO victory. Four months and one unusual main event later, Silva finds himself aligned for a shot at another big name this Fall, division Champion Alistair Overeem.
Last weekend's questionable effort aside, it is very likely that "Bigfoot" will once again find himself relegated to the underdog role when he meets the Dutchman later this year. According to him, however, his cage side seats at the American Airlines Center gave him more than just a clear view of Overeem's fight, they allowed him to see "the way."
