Patrick Cote has been out of action since UFC 90 after injuring his knee during his middleweight title fight. Cote was supposed to return during the year, but once again reaggravated the knee injury again and had another set back.
Cote is now poised to return in 2010 and is hinting on his Facebook page that he may be fighting Michael Bisping UFC 110 on February 21, at the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia in his return.
Our friend over MMAHotStuff.com gets the props on the find and giving us the heads up.
Patrick Cote(13-5) has been out of action and out of the mix in the middleweight division, if he is looking to jump back into title contention Bisping would be a good opponent to fight. Cote was on fire before he lost to Anderson Silva at UFC 90, he was riding a 5 fight win streak and having some success against the champion.
Michael Bisping (18-2) bounced back with a solid win at UFC 105 by knocking out veteran Denis Kang. Cote would also be another good veteran to get a win over and would also help him get back into title contention.
We don’t know if the fight is in the works or if Cote is just expressing wishful thinking, but we will keep you up to date as soon as we get some official word.
