On Monday, the California Athletic Commission released their medical suspensions for this past Saturday’s UFC on FOX: Shogun vs. Vera event from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
The CSAC handed down three six month sentences, along with three “conditional” indefinite senteces to fighters competing on both the main and prelim cards.
Issued with 180-day suspensions were Jamie Varner, for a possible fractured right hand, to Mike Swick for ankle and elbow injuries, and to prelim competitor Oli Thompson for a nasal fracture. All three may have their sentences reduced if cleared by a physician.
The indefinite sentence went to Varner, for his hand, to DaMarques Johnson for his knockout loss, and to Wagner Prado for the eye poke he suffered against Phil Davis.
