The Score Fighting Series
returns to Hamilton, Ontario on August 25th with one of the most
anticipated fights in Canadian MMA history headlining the card. Rising
stars John “Haggis Basher” Fraser and Josh Hill, Canada’s top two
bantamweights not currently competing in the UFC, will go head-to-head
at Hamilton Place Theatre.
Fraser (10-3) is a native of Sarnia, Ontario and is on a seven fight
win streak. Hill (8-0) hails from Stoney Creek, Ontario and has a
perfect professional record of 8-0.
Hill is renowned for his incredible athleticism, solid striking and
dominant wrestling. Fraser has developed a reputation for his
relentless attacking style and for finishing fights, with nine of his
wins coming via submission. The two share a mutual opponent in Eric
Wilson, who Hill dominated en route to a unanimous decision victory at
The Score Fighting Series in March of this year, while Fraser submitted
Wilson in May 2011.
“Both John and Josh were on the first fight card we produced as part
of The Score Fighting Series and both have perfect records inside our
cage,” said The Score Fighting Series promoter Brendan Fyfe.
“Stylistically I think they will bring out the best in each other. As a
fan I couldn’t be more excited about this fight.”
This fight has been talked about in MMA circles for years, with the
fighters themselves looking forward to it perhaps more than anyone.
Hill said: “I’m very excited to be back fighting for The Score
Fighting Series in my hometown of Hamilton again, and I’m even more
excited to be part of the main event against a top caliber fighter like
John Fraser.“
Fraser added: “This is the fight that everyone been asking for a
battle between two top ranked Canadians and I am pleased to give the
fans what they want.”
For the first time ever, fights from the main card will be carried
live on theScore Television Network, with every fight streamed live on theScore.com.
