Miesha Tate Escapes Without A Broken Arm But More Tests Pending

Looking at the photo one would almost be certain that former Strikeforce women’s bantamweight champ Miesha Tate had suffered a broken arm after newly crowned champ, Ronda Rousey, had bent the arm in an unnatural angle. Word comes from Tate herself, through MMAFighting.com, that her left arm is not broken after an initial x-ray but there are still several more tests to do to determine what type of damage was done.
“I had X-Rays last night,” Tate told MMAFighting.com via text message. “No bones are broken, which I already knew. Other than that, I have to get an MRI to find out anything further.”
Rousey had Tate in two armbar submissions in their bout, one early into the fight which the former champ escaped, and one late in the second which forced the end after Tate initially refused to tap ending at 4:27 of the first round.
The women headlined last weekends Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio with their match airing on SHOWTIME.
