Aussie Judges Get It Wrong, Johnson vs. McCall Ends In A Majority Draw After Scores Retabulated

Fans who caught last nights UFC on FX 2 event on television last night missed out on an opportunity to watch UFC flyweights Demetrious ‘Mighty Mouse’ Johnson and Ian ‘Uncle Creepy’ McCall go into a sudden-death fourth round.
The reason we missed it was because the judges who totaled the scores after the third round of the bout made a mistake.
Initially the Johnson was awarded a Split Decision when the scores were read (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) then it was changed to a Majority Decision (29-28, 29-29, 29-28), and then Combat Sports Authority of New South Wales executive director Craig Waller revealed to UFC president Dana White that the bout had actually ended in a Majority Draw (28-28, 29-29, 29-28).
White’s reaction pretty much summed it up for everyone “You’ve got to me fucking kidding me.”
At the post fight press conference Waller announced the error and took responsibility for the miscalculation, basically telling the media that he responded the same way as White did once the error was brought to his attention.
Both fighters received their win bonus for the event and will rematch later this year, possibly in April but that appears to be a tentative date.
The winner will move on to face Joseph Benavidez for the flyweight title. Benavidez finished Yasuhiro Urushitani via TKO in the second round to move on to the title match.
