Ben Askren
Bellator 56 is now set with the main event title fight becoming official on Friday with champion Ben Askren and challenger Jay Hieron both making weight.
The two competitors have no love lost heading into their title fight on Saturday night and both fighters were jawing back and forth at each other before, during and after the weigh-ins.
The heavyweight semifinals are also set with all four competitors hitting the scale and making weight. Unfortunately several of the preliminary fighters weren’t so lucky and four fighters in total missed weight and will have to attempt to cut the extra pounds or risk being fined if they stay on the card.
