On top of the Rory MacDonald vs. Brian Ebersole bout announcement for UFC 140 in December, UFC officials also added two more matches to the event.Added to the event are UFC welterweights Rich ‘The Raging Bull’ Attonito (10-4) vs. Claude ‘The Prince’ Patrick (14-1) and lightweight newcomers John Cholish (7-1) vs. Mitch Clarke (9-0).
UFC 140 is scheduled to take place on December 10 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Attonito was a cast member of the eleventh season of “The Ultimate Fighter” and has gone 3-1 in the Octagon since making his debut in June 2010. His last fight was in June, making his welterweight debut against Daniel Roberts in Pittsburgh. ‘The Raging Bull’ would earn a unanimous decision at the UFC on Versus 4 show.
Patrick, a Canadian, appears at his fourth UFC event and third on Canadian soil. ‘The Prince’ has earned thirteen straight victories, including a decision victory over Roberts at UFC 129 last April. Previous wins include victories against James Wilks at UFC 120 and Ricardo Funch at UFC 115.
Cholish, a member of the Renzo Gracie gym, has won seven straight which includes a victory at last February’s Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Silva event. Cholish had his last fight in June, a submission win at a CFFC 9 event in New Jersey.
His opponent, Clarke, is a rising Canadian lightweight who has yet to taste defeat. The Saskatchewan fighter earned his last victory in April earning a decision win at a local Alberta show. Six of his nine wins have come via submission.
