2011 NCAA Champion Wrestler Bubba Jenkins Moving to MMA, Signs with American Top Team

2011 NCAA champion from Arizona State Bubba Jenkins will be the latest wrestler to enter the world of MMA, and he’s signed on with American Top Team to help him do it.

Welcome another NCAA champion to the world of MMA.

2011 NCAA wrestling champion Bubba Jenkins has made the move to begin his MMA career, and he’ll do so at American Top Team.
The team made the announcement about Jenkins’ move on Friday.
American Top Team had recently put out a call to top wrestlers to work with the Florida based squad, and Jenkins is a great addition.
At 157lbs during the 2010-11 campaign, Jenkins won the NCAA title wrestling under the famed Arizona State banner. Prior to his time in Arizona, Jenkins wrestled for Olympic Gold medalist Cael Sanderson at Penn State University before being asked to leave the program.
Once he went home to Arizona, Jenkins showcased his dominance and actually pinned Penn State freshman David Taylor to win the NCAA title, and put an exclamation point on his college career.
Now that he’s committed to MMA, Jenkins will head to American Top Team to join the squad featuring fighters like Thiago Alves, Cole Miller, Mike Brown and others.
Throughout his wrestling career, Jenkins wrestled at both 149lbs and 157lbs so it’s unclear what weight class he will call home for MMA.
