UFC suspend Chael Sonnen wake of latest scandal

In the wake of his latest scandal, Chael Sonnen has officially been put on suspension, according to TMZ.com. Despite his guilty plea and potential jail term, Dana White confirmed the company won't turn their back on the fighter:
"Chael Sonnen has gone through a lot in the last few months and we think it's important for him to focus on getting his personal life together before focusing on his career in the UFC."

White adds, "I spoke with Chael earlier today and he agrees that setting priorities in his life is the best thing for him right now. I sincerely hope Chael is able to straighten out his personal life."

With the news of both the suspension and the charges, a rumoured bout with Yoshihiro Akiyama now looks in doubt. The fight was expected to be held at UFC 129.
Sonnen burst to the forefront of the scene almost the day his bout with Champion Anderson Silva was announced. The 185 pound-er took every possible opportunity to trash talk the Champ, and even make a few outlandish remarks non MMA related (The Lance Armstrong comments, anyone?). The one man hype machine was proving to be one of the UFC's most valued assets, despite losing in the dying moments of the fight, Sonnen had made the title fight one of the most anticipated to date. Following this, Chael tested positive for PED's, and although the event was somewhat ironed out, he still was banned from competing for 6 months
