Canadian heavyweight Tim “The Thrashing Machine” Hague (12-5) has been released from the Ultimate Fighting Championship for the third time. His dismissal follows last weekends first round TKO loss to Matt Mitrione in the co-main event of UFC: Fight for the Troops 2 in Fort Hood, Texas.Hague posted the news on his Facebook page.
“After getting released from the UFC again today, I’m gonna take a little break away from MMA, let the brain heal from my concussion, and get the passion/fire back. Even toying with the idea of trying a cut to 205.”The heavyweight only managed a 1-4 record with the UFC in three separate stints over the past two years with the promotion.
“”I will be back though, I’m only 27, and I will make it back to the UFC.”
Hague made his UFC debut against Pat Barry, submitting the kickboxer at UFC 98. He’d then go on to suffer a seven-second knockout loss to Todd Duffee at UFC 102. Next he’d lose a majority decision loss to Chris Tuchscherer at UFC 109, and then a unanimous decision loss to Joey Beltran at UFC 113. Hague would win two with a local Canadian promotion before being brought back to fight Mitrione.
