"Strikeforce: Henderson vs. Babalu II" medical suspensions go to eight fighters!!

Eights fighters from this past weekend's "Strikeforce: Henderson vs. Babalu II" event have been issued medical suspensions, and three – all from the main card – are out 60 days or longer.

Strikeforce headliner Renato "Babalu" Sobral, co-headliner Scott Smith and main-card fighter Matt Lindland all face lengthy suspensions.

MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) recently requested and received the list of suspensions from the Missouri Office of Athletics.

"Strikeforce: Henderson vs. Babalu II"  took place Dec. 4 at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis.

Sobral, who suffered a knockout loss to Dan Henderson, and Smith, who suffered a KO defeat to Paul Daley, both are suspended 60 days.

Lindland, who suffered an equally vicious knockout to Robbie Lawler, is shut down 120 days and must receive neurological clearance in the form of an MRI before he can return to competition.

The other fighters all received 30-day suspensions for precautionary reasons. They include main-card fighter Mike Kyle and preliminary-card competitors Max Martyniouk, Terrell Brown, Lee Brousseau and Coltin Cole. Aside from Martyniouk, who took an illegal and accidental upkick to the face (which resulted in a technical unanimous-decision loss), all of the fighters suffered TKO defeats.
