K-1 Dynamite!! 2010 Results: Alistair Overeem Demolishes Todd Duffee in Quick Fashion
As most fans expected, Alistair Overeem proved once again that he is the alpha male of MMA's heavyweight division as he made quick work of former UFC veteran Todd Duffee at K-1's Dynamite!! 2010 New Year's Eve event this morning. In the blink of an eye, Duffee was blasted by a brutal one-two combination from the Strikeforce champion, dropping him into the ropes and ending the fight instantly. Duffee came out strong as he pressed the action and backed Overeem to his own corner, but Overeem's defense was strong. Following the flurry by Duffee, it was all Overeem.
There isn't much that can be said in the aftermath of this battle. Overeem is still considered a top heavyweight in the world. While many fans will argue whether he deserves to be ranked so highly on our own rankings or other MMA rankings, it's hard to argue against the idea that Overeem is the man that everyone in the heavyweight division should fear right now.
His enormous physique, vast array of skills, technical prowess in the stand-up game, and immense power combine to create this modern era "Smashing Machine" . Add onto that credentials such as the K-1 World Grand Prix title, and it's tough not to see Overeem dominating the landscape of the heavyweight division in the future, in both MMA and K-1.
