DREAM's year-end show, "Dynamite!! 2010," airs live in the U.S. on HDNet.
HDNet Fights brass officially announced the blockbuster event premieres Friday, Dec. 31, at 4 a.m. ET/1 a.m. PT.
"Dynamite!! 2010" takes place Dec. 31 at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.
DREAM "Dynamite!! 2010" features a massive 15-bout card loaded with notables. The promotion's featherweight and welterweight titles will both be on the line, as champ Bibiano Fernandes faces Hiroyuki Takaya, while title holder Marius Zaromskis puts his belt on the line against MMA legend Kazushi Sakuraba.
A trio of recently announced contests featuring Satoshi Ishii vs. Jerome Le Banner, Sergei Kharitonov vs. Tatsuya Mizuno and Alistair Overeem against an opponent yet to be announced (but believed to be Todd Duffee) added even more depth to a lineup that features fan-favorites such as Shinya Aoki, Tatsuya Kawajiri, Josh Thomson, Caol Uno, Gegard Mousasi, Hayato "Mach" Sakurai and Ikuhisa "Minowaman" Minowa.
Japan's major MMA organizations – including the now-defunct K-1 HERO's and PRIDE Fighting Championships – traditionally close out the year with major shows.
Japan's other top current promotion, World Victory Road, hosts its show, "Soul of Fight," on Dec. 30 as part of an all-day martial-arts festival. HDNet Fights CEO Andrew Simon said the MMA portion of the day likely will air on HDNet in some form, but exact details have yet to be announced.
