Bellator Fighting Championships Officially Announced Light Heavyweight Tournament For Season 4

As Bellator Fighting Championships get ready to embark on a new relationship with MTV2 starting in 2011, the promotion has officially announced a light heavyweight tournament that will kick off in March.
The tournament was first confirmed in an MMAWeekly.com report regarding the signing of free agent Daniel Gracie to the tournament earlier this month.
The light heavyweight tournament will be the latest edition to the Bellator roster of tournaments, and the first of its kind for the organization.
“We’ve wanted to add a light heavyweight world championship tournament since Season 1, but wanted to ensure that when we did it, we had a great group fighting for the title. Now, we do,” said Bjorn Rebney, Bellator CEO. “One of the best parts of my job is handing over the Bellator World Title belt to a new champion, and I’ll have the pleasure of doing it again this upcoming season.”
Bellator announced the six of the eight participants in the tournament have already been selected and announcements should be forthcoming. Daniel Gracie is expected to face Tim Carpenter in one of the opening round match-ups, but Bellator has not made that official as of yet.
