Georges St.Pierre’s trainer says he will be back hungrier then ever

Georges St.Pierre’s trainer Firas Zihabi slowly has built up the Tristar Gym into one of the most stacked and talented camps in the sport today. He recently added talented lightweight fighter Kenny Florian and up and coming light heavyweight fighter Jon Jones into the mix and gets a steady stream of fighters out of Greg Jackson’s camp in New Mexico who also come to train with the welterweight champion as well.

In Zihabi’s latest interview with FightHype.com he spoke about St.Pierre’s training habbits and how he is hungrier then ever to make his return to the Octagon soon.

“I always say to Georges he gets to live 3 nights out of the year and then its right back to the gym to get back to work. He fights one night and then he gets to party or whatever for the week and after 3 or 4 days, he’s back in the gym working out. That’s a lot of stress on a fighter, so we gave him a breather and now GSP is hungrier than ever to get back in the Octagon. I’m happy to see him back to like when we first started in mixed martia arts. We were so eager to have this adventure and now I think it’s back for him. Sometimes, you know how when you step back from something, it makes you hungrier. I think this break did that for him, so in his next fight, I think we’re going to have his best.”

We do not know exactly when St.Pierre will return to the cage, but we expect from what we have heard he will be back by Superbowl weekend for UFC 109 or March for UFC 110 or 111.
