The heavyweight collision between Gabriel Gonzaga and Junior dos Santos, originally thought to be going down on December 12th at UFC 107, will now take place on the promotions “year end” card, UFC 108 on January 2nd in Las Vegas, Nevada.
According to a report by MMAWeekly.com multiple sources have revealed that the bout has been agreed for the new date and contracts are expected to be signed in the next week.
Dos Santos is coming off the biggest win of his career in September when he impressively slugged it out for three rounds with legendary striker, Mirko Cro Cop before eventually forcing the stoppage. As for Gonzaga, he took care of UFC newcomer, Chris Tuchscherer at UFC 102 in the first round, rebounding from his March loss to Shane Carwin.
